Sales View
SalesView and ProgramView
SalesView and ProgramView extend the reach of Sundance Digital automation beyond Master Control and into the Sales, Quality Control, Engineering, and Management areas of the facility. SalesView and ProgramView permit anyone within the facility, or remotely over a Wide Area Network, to view the database of video server contents and play any desired elements directly on their desktop. All versions are offered as a software license for up to 20 seats in a single facility (call for site license pricing).
SalesView Lo-Res™ ProgramView Low-Res employs a special edition of TeleStream's FlipFactory™ to create a proxy of all new content, regardless of ingest source. Low resolution copies are automatically created and stored on the Sundance Digital network so they never consume valuable video server bytes. SalesView Low-Res and ProgramView will work with any mainstream video server.
Low-Res or Full Bandwidth Display
Users can elect to play back material in either low-resolution, or in full bandwidth/high-resolution directly from the server. When playing back a low-resolution proxy, the clip is shown directly on the user's computer screen and uses standard jog & shuttle commands. To view an element in high-resolution, SalesView and ProgramView take control of a spare server decoder under SIDON™ control. Typically, facilities will modulate that signal onto an in-house cable channel or provide it as an AV router destination.
SalesView is the only browsing product to offer a viewing choice between high or low-resolution formats. ProgramView extends the functionality normally limited to Master Control. Server elements can be viewed, trimmed, sub-clipped, or even have secondary events attached to them - frame accurately and right from the desktop.
Metadata
In addition to playing back content from the server, SalesView and ProgramView permit users to view all the metadata associated with each element. Besides the customary ID, Title and Duration, SalesView provides such useful statistics as when the element was dubbed into the server, when it was last modified, how many times it has played and when it was last played to air are available. These details are an invaluable management tool.
Applications
SalesView/ProgramView can be used in many different ways. The most common is to give the Sales staff a method of viewing their clients' commercials on the server or to dub a spot to tape for off-site use without disrupting the on-air operation.
Promotions and Engineering departments also frequently use the program. For example, to verify the correct promos were loaded onto the server by checking the dub date, or by playing back the element. Engineering uses include quality control or monitoring whether or not spots are being accurately dubbed into the server.
Compatibility
SalesView/ProgramView works with Titan and FastBreak Automation NXT. It may also be configured as a standalone application in conjunction with other manufacturers' server management applications. SalesView is hardware-independent and will work with any Sundance Certified server.
